STANDARD ONE: STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP
School executives will create conditions that result in strategically re-imaging the school’s vision, mission, and goals in the 21st century. Understanding that schools ideally prepare students for an unseen but not altogether unpredictable future, the leader creates a climate of inquiry that challenges the school community to continually re-purpose itself by building on its core values and beliefs about its preferred future and then developing a pathway to reach it.

The School Profile from Public Data (restricted access) Google document displays school information curated from public data and school personnel. The information found aligns to the school's vision and mission. The attributes found in this document details the rich culture of the M.B. Hubbard school community.
At the beginning of the school year, we looked at our vision and mission of the school. We discussed our purpose for the year and examined our mission. These conversations helped us to fine-tune our focus and provide all the clarity we needed to ensure priorities were in line with student learning.

Our Mission: M.B. Hubbard is a 21st century school where high expectations and reflective practices guide lifelong learning in a safe and nurturing environment. ELP 552: School-Based Planning, Management, and Evaluation in Professional Learning Communities was an introduction to the creation, implementation, and evaluation of professional learning communities and professional development. The school data google document includes a table that demonstrates the different types of data collected and a brief narrative to accompany the audit.
C. School Improvement Plan
The school improvement plan provides the structure for the vision. Values, goals and changes necessary for improved achievement for all students.

NCStar is a web-based school improvement management tool that is used by schools in North Carolina. NCStar guides school teams through a process of charting improvement and managing their continuous improvement process. The Comprehensive Plan is our living document that is continually edited and updated. I am currently managing the NCStar platform for M.B. Hubbard Elementary.
The School Improvement Plan was updated in August 2020 during our Leadership Team meeting. In October 2020, myself and the current Principal presented our plan to the District Office. I created the presentation based on our current School Improvement Plan.

As a part of the School Improvement Team at M.B. Hubbard, each staff member must participates on a Committee. Hubbard staff serve on the following committees: Leadership/School Improvement Team, Mentors, PBIS Team, Enhancement Clubs, Social Committee and Powerschool Champions. Each team meets once a month to ensure that the work is aligned with the School Improvement Plan goals.
